In memory of Mark Salsman, July 7, 2000 – April 22, 2013
All of us have a desire to make a difference in this world. This is true with children as well. Few have been as successful as our son, Mark. In his brief twelve years, the little boy with the light brown hair, big brown eyes, and the sweetest voice in the world charmed all who knew him.
God gives children with cancer something extra. Mark used his extra to bring joy and happiness to everyone he met. Mark was a mixture of charisma, creativity, charm, toughness, and swagger. We loved him from the day he was born. We know that Mark is with God now and he will be forever joyful. For us, Mark will be forever unforgettable.
Mark appeared in the 2012 three-week workshop production of Paul Sill’s Story Theatre directed by Beth Wigley. He is survived by his parents, Scott and Sharon Salsman, and brothers, Paul and John. In his memory, StageLights, Williamsburg’s Theatre for Children is creating a scholarship to be awarded annually to a child participating in the three-week workshop.
